Soorma Movie Review

Soorma Movie Review:

How do you overcome a setback, a dark one which leaves you physically devastated? Either you sit back cry over what happened or comeback like a king to take what is yours like a warrior. Soorma aka warrior is a tale of determination, setback, commitment and triumphant comeback. Soorma is a biopic based on the life of Indian hockey player Sandeep Singh also known as Flicker Singh.
Sandeep played by Diljit Dosanjh is rather timid while his brother Bikramjeet played by Angad Bedi is responsible and hardworking which gets him becomes a good Hockey player. Sandeep keeps on lingering with his friend carefree, until Harpreet (Tapsee Pannu) comes into his life. Mastering a rare hockey technique called “Drag Flick” earns him a position in Indian National team. But in one unfortunate event his life comes tumbling down nearly causing him his life. After several trials and tribulations, Sandeep keeps the warrior spirit alive and fights back snatching his position back in Indian Hockey team.
Soorma is a tale of greatest comeback in sports history, defeating physical disability and prejudice. Diljit Dosanjh and Tapsee are great but the supporting cast of Angad Bedi, Vijay Raaz and Satish Kaushik are amazing. The relationship between two brothers and few moments they share are pleasing. Screenplay is however problematic, the movie does not entirely keeps you glued to the screen. The story focused more on the romantic relationship of Diljit and Tapsee rather than the core story. If you are expecting something like Chak de India then you will be disappointed. Those adrenaline filled games, nail biting climax and the emotional expenditure these factors are missing in Soorma. Movie could have been a great biopic but fails in different parts. Overall Soorma is a good watch, watch it for the inspirational journey of Sandeep Singh.

Bulbbul Movie Review: A tale of red night

Bulbbul: A cold night dripped in bloodshot red where the spirit of “Chudail'' roams freely around the forest, just the kind of story the 5 year old Bulbbul is raised up hearing. Bulbbul is an important women centric movie that needs to be talked and discussed. Bulbbul is shown free playing along the branches of the trees but her freedom abruptly ceases when she at her very tender age is married to a man contrastingly older than her. Set in Bengal during the colonial period around 1881, Bulbul speaks volume about all the regressive practices like patriarchy, child marriage, rape, gender equality, mysogny and the filthy secrets rich family possess. When Bulbbul’s brother in law, Satya returns after his studies an series of murder is taking place in the same time. As Satya puts his detective hat to investigate the murders, the secrets that are revealed will shake him to core.  Bulbbul has lavish set design accompanied by costumes. THe highlight of the movie is indeed the striking ...

Uncut Gems Movie Review

Uncut Gems might be the greatest performance of all time for Adam Sandler. He is what you called at the pinnacle of his game. The story progresses as Howard tries to balance his diamond business, dealing with loan sharks and his marriage. Does he succeed in making it big in the end? ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. The movie keeps you on edge of your seat with gripping plot twists in each corner.  It is...
